2025 Annual Conference of Jiangxi Public Administration Society and Seminar on "High-Quality Writing and Publication of Academic Theses" Successfully Held

On December 14, 2025, the 2025 Annual Conference of Jiangxi Public Administration Society and Seminar on "High-Quality Writing and Publication of Academic Theses" was grandly held at Nanchang University. Professor Wu Dan, President of Jiangxi Public Administration Society and Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Nanchang University, attended the conference and delivered a speech, and Professor Han Yi, Vice President and Secretary-General of the Society, presided over the conference.

At the opening ceremony, President Wu Dan systematically reviewed the various work of the Society in 2025. He pointed out that over the past year, the Society has closely focused on the actual development of Jiangxi, focused on cutting-edge issues in the field of public administration, promoted the coordinated development of political guidance, organizational construction and academic work, successfully completed various key tasks, and achieved solid results with political height, organizational strength and academic depth. Facing 2026, the Society will focus on promoting the following three aspects of work: first, focus on key tasks and make innovative achievements in service; second, strengthen interdisciplinary research and achieve breakthroughs in academic innovation; third, deepen internal and external cooperation, expand new prospects in resource integration, and promote the Society to become an "intellectual engine" serving the academic and practical circles of public administration in IiangXi.

Professor Han Yi, Secretary-General of the Society, delivered an annual work report on behalf of the Society, comprehensively summarizing the progress of the Society's work in strengthening Party building learning, improving the organizational structure, holding competitions and activities, and completing annual inspection and audit over the past year, and made a detailed report to the conference on the use of funds and resource support of the Society. Subsequently, through the election process, the conference completed the co-option of 34 directors and 10 standing directors.

In the academic seminar session, Researcher Cao Sheng, Deputy Publisher of Chinese Public Administration, delivered a special sharing on "The Subjectivity of Knowledge and Interdisciplinary Integration in Social Science Research". He stated that social science research is not an individual behavior but a process of collaborative innovation of the academic community. The academic community needs to combine national strategic needs and the perception of the academic community, explore the innovation path of the independent knowledge system from the perspective of "knowledge subjectivity", and lay the foundation for the writing and publication of high-quality theses.

Then, Researcher Wang Yu, Associate Editor of Journal of Shanghai Administration Institute, delivered a keynote lecture entitled "What Kinds of Manuscripts Do C-Class Journal Editors Prefer? - Also on the Ecological Environment of Academic Publication". Combining the practical challenges faced by current academic publication, he deeply analyzed the writing and publication path of high-quality theses from the dimensions of editors' manuscript selection and review criteria and the rules of the academic market. He emphasized that scholars need to have both "problem awareness" and "market awareness", and at the same time called on the academic community to view publication pressure rationally and maintain an academic mentality of devoting oneself to research.

This annual conference has not only clarified the direction of key work tasks of Jiangxi Public Administration Society, but also built an efficient platform for promoting the deep integration of academic research and practical services, which will further help the Society achieve high-quality development and enhance its academic influence and social contribution.
